Save Drama from euthanasia!!!

All funds raised will go directly to the adopter or rescue that assumes Drama’s vet care. Should Drama be euthanized by ACCT Philly, all funds raised on her behalf will be used to help another dog in need.

Drama ACCT-A-128162 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to medical concerns. Drama must have confirmed placement with an ADOPTER or RESCUE PARTNER by Monday, December 12th by 10:00 am. Should Drama's medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change.

Meet Drama! This sweet lady is around 6 years old and was brought to ACCT by the police as a stray. Unfortunately, no owners came forward for Drama and she has been here ever since. Drama is nervous and unsure of the shelter environment, shaking in the kennel and nervous to walk at times. Drama loves her staff and volunteer friends though! Outside Drama is shy and continues to shake, but solicits attention from her handler and seeks out comfort, leaning against them. When a volunteer group came to hand out toys to the dogs Drama nuzzled up close to one of the volunteer's giving him kisses on his face and sat in front of him leaning in for pets. Drama is a very sweet girl who would make the perfect companion for a quiet home.It was noted that Drama does appear to have issues with her eye and it was examined by the medical team. Upon examination our vet said, "OD is shrunken and non-visual, likely due to previous trauma. Although it does not seem overtly painful, enucleation would be ideal to prevent complications in the future. Whether to perform enucleation at time of spay vs. offsite at a later date is at the discretion of the ACCT surgeon. Unfortunately, Drama also has dental fractures and some of the teeth will require extraction, especially the left mandibular canine. Mandibular canine extractions can prove challenging and a veterinary dental specialist may need to be consulted. Drama urgently needs to be placed with a rescue or adopter who can take care of her medical needs.
