Save Dirk's Smile [Urgent]

Recently our friend and artist Dirk was taking a bike ride for inspiration as he was designing a new puppet performance when an obstacle caused him to veer, hit a curb, take a short flight, and faceplant near the woods by the Montebello track. When he stood up after the accident he had missing teeth, dislocated fingers and more. His face was stitched up, and his fingers and wrist are recovering but he needs emergency dental work that is not covered by his insurance.

Dirk  is the father of two amazing daughters, Koi and Azaria who are themselves prolific artists. The three of them constitute String Theory Theater , a Baltimore based puppetry troupe. As a sculptor, painter, puppeteer, film-maker and more he is not only an artistic treasure, Dirk is DEEPLY committed to community. He has taught and touched hundreds of youth all over Baltimore, as well as collaborated with and mentored countless artists across the country. As an avid gardener and food bank volunteer he has been a consistent village resource. Now he finds himself in a situation that could happen to any of us.

Dirk has identified a great dental team that is willing to give him a steep discount but needs to gather funds for the procedure urgently, not to mention there are many aspects of his livelihood that will be on hold while he recovers and gets the necessary oral reconstruction over the next several months. Our brother is a strong, resilient force, having beaten cancer in the past but needs our support in this healing journey ahead of him.
