Since 2006, the Denton Animal Support Foundation (DASF) has been a non-profit organization whose mission is to save more Denton area animals. They accomplish this by focusing on four major components: Education, the City of Denton Animal Shelter, Lake Dallas Animal Shelter, and the Denton community. The strategic goal is to ultimately save more Denton area animals through adoption and prevention of abandonment. DASF has directly saved more than 25,000 animals through their program since opening.
The Foundation focuses on two types of programs: shelter support programs and community support programs. Shelter support programs include adoption subsidies to lower adoption fees, heartworm treatment vouchers and the emergency medical fund. All of these programs are designed to increase the adoptability of the animals in the shelter, especially those that are often overlooked (seniors, special needs, heartworm positive, etc).
The Community Support programs focus on assisting current and future pet owners in Denton, to prevent animals from ending up back in the shelters. This is done through programs such as the emergency pet food assistance, and free rabies/low cost vaccine clinics.
With your support, the Denton Animal Support Foundation can continue to save the animals in our area and find them their forever homes. Help us save animals, like these dogs and cats, today by making a donation to our DASF GoFundMe.
