Save Debbie and Paul’s Home in Crisis

I am Harry, and I have started this fund raiser for my niece Debbie and her husband Paul who reside in Hollywood, FL. They are temporarily in a precarious financial situation due to two medical emergencies striking. Without help it is likely they will be evicted from their home.

Paul is a 16 year employee of Orangebrook Golf and Country Club. He is battling bladder cancer, and with progress there, he had a heart attack last week. Since hospitalized, he had a triple bypass and valve replacement. There is currently no income coming into the household other than a modest retirement benefit, and the couple rely on paychecks to get by...paychecks which have stopped and will not return soon. Doctors say it will be at LEAST 4 weeks out of commission; likely 2 months before return to work.

Paul is 72...Debbie and he have more expenses due to this of course, and no discretionary income. There is an immediate need to settle up the rent which is the wolf at the door, last month and this month, just to get them even and prevent eviction. That emergency amount is just over $3500.

None of the social workers at the hospital have been able to help. Some of the suggested charities suggested in Broward County currently have no funding available, leaving them unsure where to turn...ultimately to me, to see if I could help THIS way.
