Save Davisville: Fight Against Industrial Solar Array
Donation protected
We are reaching out in a time of need to ask for your support in protecting Davisville from the disruption and safety risks posed by a recently approved industrial solar array project. Despite our objections, the North Kingstown Planning Commission has approved a plan that will clearcut tens of acres of untouched NK forest and allow industrial traffic to access this project via our neighborhood’s residential streets. We believe this decision violates local ordinances designed to protect our community, specifically Section 14.2, which prohibits the use of residential roads for industrial access.
The Olde Mill and Woodland Estate neighborhoods were already deeply impacted by the relocation of Route 403, and at the time a sound study was conducted. Sound mitigation measures were proposed to be installed, but never implemented due to cost. With the looming elimination of the remaining acres of trees, the sound pollution will be catastrophic to our neighborhoods.
We have just 20 days to appeal this decision, but taking legal action comes with significant continued costs. Our community is united in this fight, but we need your help to cover the legal fees associated with paying our land-use attorney and preparing our case for appeal and subsequent hearings.
This is not just about woodlands and traffic—it’s about preserving the safety of our families, protecting property values, our groundwater, and ensuring that our town ordinances are respected. Every donation, no matter how small, will help us continue this fight and protect the future of Davisville.
Please consider donating to our legal fund and sharing this page with others who care about keeping our community safe. Together, we can ensure that our voices are heard and that our neighborhood remains a peaceful place to live.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
Sincerely,
Collective Residents of Woodland Estates, Olde Mill, Hunts River, and Davisville Road
Olde Mill Impacts

Woodland Estates Impact
The proposed solar array would bring industrial traffic through the residential neighborhood of Woodland Estates. This quiet, family friendly neighborhood would be decimated by industry, as the only access point for the solar development, and its accompanying utilities, is through the neighborhood.

After the relocation of Rt 403, sound mitigation was never installed. Residents of Olde Mill and Woodland Estates are subjected to loud highway noise and bright lights.
This precious forested area is home to many threatened native species, as well as serves as a major watershed for the town of North Kingstown. The impact to wildlife, habitat, and our drinking water could be catastrophic. Please help us ensure the town and permitting agencies are following the laws that are designed to keep our communities safe.
