Save Dave Cancer Fund
I am starting this fund for my dear friend, Dave Ostendorf. I cannot imagine a world without his sense of humor, big smile, fun, and outgoing character. He is the kind of guy you stop doing what you are doing and love to hang out with him. He will drop what he is doing to help a friend in need... All of us who know him have experienced this many times.
Dave, his wife Jennifer, and his two daughter's Haille and Sophie have been a part of our family for years. Their lives were turned upside down on February 13th when they were told Dave had an aggressive form of stomach cancer.
Despite everything Dave has continued to smile, crack jokes and stay positive and still work try to provide for his family and tackle this huge life hurdle. He is determined that he will be there for the big moments in life. His girls need him. Those wedding and Grand babies need to know their fun loving Granddad Dave (someday!!!!)
Like many of us, Dave and Jennifer are self-employed and are underinsured. They are facing upwards $300,000 in medical costs. The majority of the cost being the Hospital where Dave will have to stay for approximately two weeks to recover. His official diagnosis is Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMP) the treatment is CRS with HIPEC it is a 10+ hour surgery where they will clean the abdomen of tumors then wash it with chemotherapy. The Surgeon feels that time is of the essence and has scheduled the surgery for the 25th of March. The Surgeon is giving them a discount under the circumstances, but the Hospital will not and wants a down payment before the surgery. Please try and give what you can so we can have many more years with our fun buddy Dave.... I know he isn't one to ask for anyones help. But we need to show our love to this special guy and his family.
