Save Dash: A Lifeline for Shiah's Puppy

Donation protected
I never thought I’d be in this position, writing these words. Sitting here, I’m reminded of that day just over a year ago in the hospital when doctors told us that Shiah my incredible son, had cancer. Since then it’s been a journey of hope, resilience, and countless challenges.

The last few days have been a rare, beautiful light. Shiah has wanted a puppy for a while often talking about having a “little brother.” Now that he’s at a more stable point in his treatment, we finally felt ready to bring that joy into his life. On Wednesday, we brought home a Labradoodle puppy named Dash—a sweet little friend for Shiah, who instantly bonded with him. They’ve spent every night together with Shiah just yesterday telling Dash, “I’ll always be there for you, no matter what.”

But yesterday I noticed Dash wasn’t eating, and he seemed off. This morning I took him to the vet and we received devastating news: Dash has parvo, an incredibly serious virus in puppies with no cure. The only option for survival is intensive hospital care, costing anywhere from $8,000 to $20,000. It’s a daunting amount especially as we’re already managing medical bills for Shiah’s current cancer treatment.

The thought of telling Shiah that his new friend after only 3 days might not make it is heart-wrenching. I know he’s been through so much already and the last thing he deserves is another loss. I’m reaching out hoping that maybe there are people out there who might give just $5 toward Dash’s chance at life. Every bit helps and the more we can raise the better Dash’s chances.

Please know that this isn’t something I would ever take lightly. I realize there are so many other needs in the world, and I’m not someone who would normally consider spending this much on a pet. But Dash has already brought Shiah a special kind of comfort and hope and after everything he’s faced, it feels like one more heartbreak he shouldn’t have to endure.

If there happens to be any additional funds beyond what’s needed for Dash’s treatment those would go directly toward Shiah’s current and ongoing medical expenses.

Thank you for reading this and considering a gift toward Shiah’s puppy fund. We’re hopeful that with enough support, we can turn this challenge into a story of healing and happiness.

The vet quoted us 2000$ per day and the dog would need to stay for 7-10 days depending on how he responds to treatment.

Also, God, if you’re listening, I’d gladly sign up for the “2025 Blessings & Prosperity” package—I’m pretty sure I’ve nailed the “Trials & Tribulations” one ✌️
