Help Save Danielle’s Eyesight
Donation protected
Hi, I am Tina. I am requesting your assistance to help restore my niece’s eyesight. Danielle Hlabangana is my sister’s daughter (affectionately known to everyone at home as Nooksie). Danielle is 19 years old and currently lives in Zimbabwe, Bulawayo, Thorngrove. Last year she was studying her A-level at Speciss College in Bulawayo, but was forced to drop out of school because of her deteriorating eyesight. She is also suffering from migraines as a result of this. She has been wearing glasses for a few years, but it came to a point where her eyesight was badly deteriorating. Upon going for a check-up she was diagnosed with keratoronus. Keratoronus is a non-inflammatory eye condition in which the normally round dome-shaped clear window of the eye (cornea) progressively causing a cone-like bulge to develop. This eventually impairs the ability of the eye to focus properly, thus causing poor vision. This has caused quite a lot of stagnation in her life as she can longer go to school and live a vibrant, fulfilling life. It is quite depressing for her as a young person, as she has dreams of writing her A-level and going to university one day. As a family it is very difficult to watch her feel “stuck with life.” We would love to see her living life to the fullest as she is a vibrant, bubbly young woman. She is in need of a procedure called cross-linking. We are kindly asking for donation in aid of this, the amount needed is US 3000 to cover the procedure and expenses including hospital and transport as she has to travel several times to Harare. Once this is done she will be able to continue with her studies and get back to being the vibrant, out-going young woman that she was. Your help is greatly appreciated.
