After reading all the responses from customers and seeing the incredible support Dakota has received, Ms. Phyllis and I felt compelled to reach out to Kent, the owner of Dakota East Ice House. We wanted to know if he needed help or if there was something beyond his control. Kent is a great guy—he’s too proud to ask for help, but he agreed to let us move forward with this fundraiser. Kent has poured his heart into Dakota, welcoming customers from every background, genre of music, religion, and walk of life. The sign at the door says it all, and everyone who enters feels that open, respectful vibe.

Dakota East Ice House has been open since 2018 and has never had a breakout of any kind. Right now, so many people are coming in for support, and it’s clear how much the community values this space. It’s time for friends and neighbors to give back. We need to come together and donate whatever we can to keep Dakota open and continue enjoying all the great music and events—from jazz to blues, belly dancing, and so much more.
