A Mom’s Fight to Save Her Small Business

Hi, my name is Angel and Crepe Baby isn’t just a business. It’s the only thing supporting my little family.

Last year, I made the hardest decision of my life. I walked away from a stable job because my fostered and then adopted son, Zayne, needed me. We were incorrectly told he would have cerebral palsy. He had a few surgeries that were needed and among the other struggles had to endure due to his birth mother’s horrible choice during her pregnancy. So, after everything he had been through as a baby, I was determined to help make him whole again.
The person I worked for at the time made it clear that my child’s health was an inconvenience.

So, I chose my son.

I chose to be present.
I chose to build something of my own.
I chose faith over fear.

I put myself in debt and poured every single dollar I had, my savings, my time, my energy into opening Crepe Baby. My business logo is a cartoon version of my son :) I worked every day from open to close. No days off. No shortcuts. No handouts. Just me, my griddle, and a dream.

Crepe Baby was built on love. On late nights. On tears and prayers whispered while cleaning the floors. On hope that if I worked hard enough, I could build stability for Zayne and show him what courage looks like.

For a moment, it worked. And when it slowed down and I shared my story, this community showed up for two beautiful weekends. I cried seeing the support. It reminded me why I started.

But the truth is.. our location hasn’t worked out. Foot traffic is almost nonexistent Monday - Friday. Some days I stand behind the counter for hours with no one walking through the door. And no matter how hard I work, I can’t control where the store is.

What I can control is this: I can go to the people.

A food trailer would change everything. Instead of waiting for customers, I can bring Crepe Baby to festivals, schools, private events, busy streets, late-night spots, pretty much wherever families are. I can make this business sustainable. I can keep fighting.

A fully equipped food trailer and equipment costs about $25,000. That number feels overwhelming to even type.

I have never asked for help like this before. I don’t believe in handouts. I believe in working for what you have, and I have worked every single day to make this succeed. But sometimes strength also means knowing when you can’t do it alone.

I’m not asking for charity. I’m asking for a chance.

A chance to keep the only dream I built with my own hands alive.
A chance to stay self-employed so I can be there for my son.
A chance to remain a part of this community.
A chance to turn Crepe Baby into something that can grow instead of slowly fade because of a bad location.

If Crepe Baby survives, it’s not just a crepe shop
It’s a story about choosing your child.
About refusing to be broken by unfair circumstances.
About building something beautiful out of fear.

If you can donate, share, or simply pray for us, it truly means more than you know.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in a small family with a big dream.

With love and gratitude,
Angel
