This is Creed, an 8-month-old puppy found alone on a hot street in Piñones, Puerto Rico, sick, starving, and too weak to even stand for long. When we saw Creed his hip bone was exposed, paws severely swollen with infection, infested with fleas, mange, nails were missing on his rear paws, his ribs were visible, and his eyes were barely visible. He appeared out of nowhere while we were feeding other homeless dogs. Creed dragged his body to where we were standing on the side of the road. We tried to feed him and then, We picked him up, called Puerto Rico Animal Rescue to see if they would sponsor him, and drove him to Animal Best Care to see if they could save him. Veterinarian said, "Creed only had one or two days left to live if he was left any longer on the streets".

Actual Diagnosis:

• Advanced malnutrition, dehydration, severe skin infections -Mange, Parasites, Fleas

• Hip bone exposed due to ruptured cyst

• Anemic, Heart worm positive

Creed is now resting in a safe corner at American Best Care Veterinary. He is receiving excellent care to stabilize his severe condition but he has a long way to go for full recovery.

Despite everything he has endured, Creed is gentle, patient, and trusting. He let us approach him, pick him up, and bring him to safety. He is trying so hard to hang on.

• Full veterinary exams, bloodwork, medication, boarding

• Treatment for severe skin infections, parasites, heart worm

• Medications, ointments, and special baths

• Vaccinations once he is stable

• High-nutrition food to help him gain weight safely

• Future neutering and long-term follow-up care

• Blood Transfusion - Anemia
