Save Colleen from becoming homeless

We have come together to help raise awareness for a kind friend & colleague in desperate need of help.  In today’s global pandemic it is important to keep our humanity & help one another as we are all connected.

The story of Colleen Celentano begins March 26, 1975, a 45-year-old woman on the Spectrum paired with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, a soft spoken introvert, who has devoted her adult life to taking care of her ill father & mother; Henry & Joan Celentano.  She has lived in her home since the innocent age of 6 years old with her loving family.

Due to tragic course of life events this family has suffered more than any family should in a lifetime.  With a decorated military father Mr. Henry Edward Celentano, who served bravely during the Vietnam War, suffering from the side effects due to exposure to Agent Orange, a potent herbicide & defoliant used as a tactical strategy by the Military, not knowing the short term or long term effects until it was too late. On February 8th, 2014, Mr. Celentano lost his battle with Parkinson’s Disease a confirmed association with exposure to Agent Orange which is a progressive disorder of the nervous system that effects muscle movement.

Joan Celentano cared for her family the best way possible until she fell ill more than 15 years ago, where Colleen & her brother Shawn stepped into the main Caretaker roll.  Juggling a full-time associate position at Home Depot for 22 years, while caring for her ill mother shows how much Colleen has sacrificed for her family.

On April 15, 2018, Joan had a massive stroke placing her at the mercy of the hospitals & nursing homes that are designed to take every asset a family has worked an entire lifetime towards.  Due to not understanding the system of Medicaid to it’s fullest capacity Shawn missed a vital box on the application for Caretaker Child in which would make Colleen & Shawn eligible to transfer the family home to the living children without liquidation of any assets.

Dealing with the crippling Anxiety of losing not only a home but a significant part of their childhood, Colleen has fallen into a deep depression with fears of being without a home.

A home can be many things but most importantly a home is comfort & safety during times of grief & life stressors.  In the near future, there will come a day when Colleen & Shawn will have to say goodbye to their dear loving mother at which time the only tangible memory of their loving parents Henry & Joan will be the home they are being forced to give up.

Our goal of raising $200,000 is a giant undertaking with challenges but ANY Contributions at this time can help save Colleen’s home we are not just saving a home but a memory, a safe place, a beacon of light & hope in this family’s universe.  Please remembering the binding connections, we share & hold dear to our hearts when making this donation.
