Save Coco the Sharpei
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Chelsea and I have a 9 month old Sharpei named “Coco”
Yesterday, At around 5.15pm in Roghan Road Fitzgibbon across the Hidden World Playground, She got out of her leash due to excitement as we approached the dog park...
An old SUV ran over coco and drove off without helping us. We didnt get the chance to grab the number plate due to panic but now, were facing around $12,000 in emergency vet bills including her xrays, scans, medicines (pain relievers) and surgeries.
She was started on IV therapy, 2 strong pain reliever which is ketamine & fentanyl infusion, On top she was given midazolam to calm her down due to severe pain.
Coco sustained multiple bruises, fracture of the pelvis, Both legs discolated, pnuemothorax. She is currently staying at Brisbane Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Service centre in Albany Creek.
The specialists and vets said Coco has a really good chance on recovering and we plan on having the surgery this Monday the 23rd September.
We have filed a police report and is now trying to obtain CCTV camera footage from the neighbours to try and locate the driver who drove off.. Yes we understand accidents happen and this is very unfortunate that it happened to our dear Coco.
Please.. Any amount of donations will help my family get our Coco back home. When I visited her today, she was crying and wagging her tail so hard and she’s fighting regardless how much pain and trauma she’s in. She’s such a brave girl! We’re not giving up on Coco! Kindly please help us help our coco raise this amount of money ASAP.
Thank you very much for all your kindness and help!
