For the past year, I've been taking care of my neighbor's dog. She is the SWEETEST, most loving little pup, but her family either doesn't have the capacity or desire to care for her. She spends the night outside, doesn't have a collar, and is regularly almost hit by cars. This morning she showed up at my back door with a puncture wound in her belly. I took her to the vet, and got her chipped and vaccinated. Sadly, they ran a heartworm test and it came back positive.
I've made the decision that Clover is our responsibility now. The vet let me know that if we decline treatment, she will die of congestive heart failure. The treatment is $2000, and I really don't have the resources to pay for it all – I also can't let this little dream puppy die! It's about a 9-month process to healing, but she should make a full recovery.
Thanks for your support!
