Saving Chris's legs
Tax deductible
Cat Adoption Team saved 32 sweet, adoptable cats from a hoarder, who loved them, but could not afford their medical care. As it turned out, a number of them have needed expensive medical care.,
There was Lucky, who came to us with a broken leg, a complex fracture that required great skill to fix (Thank you Dr. Ned Williams!) , and the leg was saved. Lucky has since been adopted!
There was Silver, who as it turned out, had cancer in her ear.
An there is Chris, a young laid back lap cat and a real lover, who was born with deformities to his four legs, with one front leg so severely deformed he can only walk on his elbow, creating painful calluses. Chris has undergone two successful surgeries, and a third is coming up. These surgeries will give Chris a chance at a normal, painless life.
Along the way we also have had to help other cats. Clementine came to us with a crushed leg just before Hurricane Florence. The leg had to be amputated. Clementine has been adopted!
Kitten Squish arrived with pectus excavatum, a sunken chest wall that can lead to death, as it puts pressure on the heart and lungs. Squish had successful surgery and will be up for adoption shortly.
We do not abandon cats and kittens in need who are in our care. We do whatever is required to save them. But this takes money!
Please help us pay the over $4,000 that we owe Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral (ECVR). You can donate here or call ECVR directly at [phone redacted] and ask to make a payment to the Cat Adoption Team account. Any amount is greatly appreciated!!
Cat Adoption Team is a non-profit cat rescue group in Wilmington, NC. We save homeless cats/kittens and find them forever loving homes.
Thank you!!
