Save Chloe for Ava

In the June of 2009, a beloved family pet, Max, was hit by a car, in the night, while his owner, a six year old girl was asleep. The family was devastated, seeing that the dog was so young. They had promised, that the next puppy they got, would be a boy and they would name him Max. 12 days later, the family searched through a rescue adoption event that was being held at the local pet-store. Among the dozens of dogs, eager to be adopted, was a litter of pug-terrier mix puppies. There were all boys, and only one girl, Cindy Bear. The family was planning on adopting Ranger, a pup that looked just like Max. They were disappointed to find out that he was already intended to be adopted by another family, as were all the other puppies. Except for one. They were about to give up hope on that litter, until the little girl went over and stuck her fingers though the bars of the cage, and up came Cindy Bear, all on her own to say hello, licking her fingers playfully. That little girl was me, and Cindy Bear was our Chloe Maxine, who we would soon adopt only an hour or so later.

Ever since then, we’ve been inseparable, best friends and she is the sweetest and most wonderful friend I could ever ask for. Through the years, her playful, puppy like personality would stick with her. She cuddles, plays and provides endless love and affection for our family. She has a bigger personality then her little body can hold, dead-set on protecting me, the house and the rest of the family.

As I got older, I went through the ups and downs of school and growing up as well as being diagnosed with different learning disabilities, and later on, chronic depression and suicidal ideation. Through the tears, the pain, challenges and struggles, she was there. Chloe was there. During the bouts of deep fear, she accompanied me, aware of my pain, doing everything in her power to make me feel better. Encourage me to play, snuggle, pet her. She knew. And it worked. She made me feel better. She was a reason for me to keep going. My best friend, my baby, my beautiful girl, I knew I had to stay around for her. What would she do without me?

Now, the emergency vet just told us that,  at the age of seven, Chloe has a life-threatening internal blockage, in which her gall bladder could rupture. So I’m telling you this story because now it’s my turn to save her.  She has so much  life, energy, cuddles and love left in her, brightening the day of every person she meets with her cute, expressive face, peppy attitude and warm, loving heart. But the surgery to save her is very expensive and I need your help. We’re doing everything we can. I’m working every weekend, selling my belongings online and pouring my heart out for her. We will need $9,362.60  for the surgery and in order to bring her home if all goes well by next week. I can’t tell you how much it would mean to me if we could raise this much money.  I dont want to lose my girl. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
