Hi! I’m Liz, and I suffer from PTSD. For years, I wanted a service dog; instead, I paid $20k, and was given a dog with multiple severe medical issues.

Chilaquil (Chila) started discharging white fluids a few days ago. It has a foul odor. She won’t eat. She sleeps all day and won’t follow me around anymore (she’s bonded to me). Chila will just lay in a single location. I took her to Bond Vet, and they found what they think is pyometra (a severe infection in the uterus that can become life-threatening), but suggested I take her to the emergency room. They also found the same pyometra in their testing, and they also found a mass in her uterus on top of the infection. The emergency room charged over $1,800 just for a check-up and antibiotics to prevent the infection from spreading. She still needs emergency surgery to remove her uterus, infection, and have a biopsy on the mass in her uterus. She only has antibiotics for 10 days to maintain the infection, but it can spread and become deadly. All quotes I’ve received from different vets are over $10,000. My current job recently lost funding due to current administration, and my paychecks have not been the same. I simply cannot afford it.
