Worlds Sweetest Dog Needs Your Help

Donation protected
8 1/2 years ago I was searching around on Craigslist when I came across a curious listing... I was moving into my first apartment after college and was looking to buy some used furniture. At the bottom of a long list of items that included dressers, an antique lamp, and a tv that needed to be fixed, was the word "Boxer". I emailed the owner to find out if this was in fact a Boxer dog that they were getting rid of... It was. And as my first girlfriend from when I was 15 years old will tell you, I have always wanted a Boxer. A Boxer named Champ. And I found him in the used furniture section of Craigslist.

I didn't come home with any furniture that day but I got something much better. A best friend and companion. An animal that's taught me so much about what it means to give and receive love unconditionally, to enjoy every moment, to be down for any adventure (including that time I lived on a shipping container on a semi truck on a pier), to be full of joy and live without shame, and to really show how excited you are when someone comes in the door (sometimes a little *too* excited... sorry to any friends he's peed on).

If you've spent time with Champ you know he is a lover. He probably looked at you like you were the only person in the world he wanted to play with... Or maybe he rested his face on your leg or elbow while you were trying to work on your computer and melted your heart a little... Or maybe he just stood there leaning against you like a chair with all 71 pounds of his weight. No matter what the situation, Champ probably made you feel wanted and loved. That's how he made all of his friends feel. And now he needs our help.

Champ has a cancerous tumor on his leg and needs surgery. It's not an easy location to do surgery on because there's not a lot of skin to work with. I've been quoted $2,105.02 (+$183.05 in GoFundMe fees) to do immediate surgery (assuming there are no additional procedures). Acting quickly will help avoid having to amputate his leg.

Champ is 9 1/2 now (I got him at 1 year old) and other than this tumor the doctors say he's in great shape. He could have years of life left if the tumor is successfully removed. My sister is a cancer surgeon and has confirmed that the proposed course of action is the best one.

So this is the part where Champ really needs to lean on us. If you're one of Champ's friends and you're able to contribute any funds to help save Champ, this is your opportunity. Your support will quite literally keep him alive and help him beat cancer. And you know that he's going to want to repay you with all the wiggles and love in the world.

Thanks in advance for your help. Please share with others. You're doing a great deed for the day. Lots of love.
