Hello, my name is Alison, and I am fundraising on behalf of my mum Jane Asher.

I am calling out to all dog lovers out there! My Mum has a dog called Cassy. Anyone who knows my mum will know how much Cassy means to my Mum I have often even joked that she has taken rank above myself. Cassy is not just a dog; she has been a lifeline for my mum.

6 years ago, Cassy came into my mum and dad's life as a puppy and covid hit and we all went into lock down - this was a time when my mum was caring for my dad who was suffering from COPD.

Mum had to shield from dad and often at times felt lonely but always says she's grateful to Cassy as she gave her comfort. For the next 6 years mum cared for my dad and Cassy was there for her throughout - Cassy depends on my mum as mum depends on Cassy. sadly, my dad died last year and again when at times mum was finding things hard after the loss of my Dad Cassy gave her purpose to carry on.

Which leads to why I'm reaching out on here, sadly Cassy is very poorly she went to the vets on Wednesday as mum had sensed something wasn't right and from there has deteriorated and has been sent to a specialist vet in Cambridge for a last-ditch attempt to save her. As poorly as she is there is a chance, with plasma treatment. My mum is insured but unfortunately this treatment is higher than the cover, but I know my mum will not settle if she doesn't give her the best shot.

Please if you can spare anything - all proceeds would go to the treatment of the plasma to help get Cassy back home with my mum.
