Bowl fundraising detail continued:
There have been problems in the past with having enough to pay rent due to inefficiency in the donation collection, and due to a lack of cooperation for rent. The number of rent contributors has substantially dropped, and on top of that rent has been raised by a considerable amount. This problem was to be mitigated with collaboration with other businesses and through event fundraising, but due to covid these were no longer a viable options. The primary lease holder has been forced to pay out of pocket and as a result cannot afford to resign unless the money raised and paid up front in order to not have to pay anymore out of pocket. The money raised would be enough to cover 6 months at which point any money that would be raised from rent (and hopefully events in the near future) can be used for maintenance In addition to planning the next step to ensure future sustainability and longevity for our bowl. The funds secure the space for 6 months, but more importantly it gives time to plan for the future, preventing all our hard work from going to waste. If the money is not raised we will have little or no time to salvage. If enough money is not raised, something that was once a milestone for Columbus’ skate scene, will instead take up space in a landfill.
