Hi everyone my name is Olahshia and the picture you see is my baby boy Carter. Yes my child has fur. On June 6th I received news that my baby has a MCT Mass Cell Tumor in his abdomen. His organs are good but the mass must be removed in order to give him a fighting chance.
I know we are living in struggling times but I am believing God for a miracle. I've been living in Gainesville for a little over a year. I spend the majority of my time helping others. I work two jobs to maintain living expenses out here and taking care of my fur babies. I have no children but being a fur mom has filled a void that I was never blessed to fulfill. I have spent the majority of my life raising myself because my mother passed away when I was 19 from cancer. I don't have much family either and nobody here.
I moved here with the hopes of a fresh start for me and my boys. I don't have any friends here but I am known for my kindness to many people on campus where I also work and in town.
Life hasn't been kind to me but it's okay because my God has blessed me with moments that will forever keep me knowing the power of prayer changes things. I can use prayers and help. My fur baby veterinarian Dr Brian Harris at Harris Veterinarian Medical Center is confident that the surgery needed would save my boy. He is active and from his test, mri, ultrasound etc. He can be okay but he will need the surgery to continue to thrive. The surgery is $2100 and with medicine afterwards could range up to $2800. I have some of the funds but not all and time is of the essence. This news has dimmed my light so much. I'm so use to encouraging everyone else no matter who it is and now I can't figure out how to encourage myself other than praying and trying to find a way. I started a fundraiser on waggle over the weekend to try and give my boy a fighting chance. I know we are living in hard times but anything helps.
