**Emergency Back Surgery for Carlos**

Dear friends and animal lovers,

I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart as our beloved dachshund, Carlos, is facing a dire situation that requires emergency back surgery. Recently, while my husband and I were away on a work trip, Carlos experienced a sudden onset of paralysis in his hind legs. Though he is not in pain, he is unable to urinate, which puts him at a significant risk of organ failure due to the pressure on his bladder.

During our absence, my in-laws have been caring for him, ensuring he is expressed daily until we can determine the best course of action. Carlos has had a successful neurology consultation Monday 5th where we were given the positive reassurances that he still has mobility in his toes and will be a successful candidate for surgery. We have been quoted $12,000 for the procedure and booked for Tuesday 6th of August

For those who have had the pleasure of meeting Carlos, you know the immense joy and love he brings into our lives. He has been my loyal companion through countless milestones—supporting me during career transitions, traveling with me in the early days of my career trips, and watching as I became a mother, always with a wagging tail and a heart full of love. His playful spirit and gentle nature have brought warmth to our family, and we cannot imagine our lives without him.

As a family, we cannot bear the thought of not doing everything possible to save Carlos. While asking for help is not something I take lightly, I am reaching out to you in hopes of gathering the support we need for his medical treatment.
