My name is Kathleen. My friends Kim and Lilah are in danger of losing their business, Card de A, after being blindsided by their former lessor from 3 years ago. The lessor is seeking back rent from a time Card de A no longer inhabited the space. The lessor is seeking $100,000 of which, $50,000 is due September 1, 2025. Please consider supporting these hardworking ladies and moms, one of whom lost her husband in 2018.
In the heart of Riviera Village in South Redondo Beach, CA, Card de A is a place where there is the right gift for everybody, a card that says it perfectly, laughter abounds, goofiness is encouraged, and friendship is the foundation. Keeping Card de A from being just a memory, Kim and Lilah purchased the decades-old greeting card and gift store in 2018. Kim and Lilah have poured their hearts into making it their own, infusing their fun-loving personalities, eclectic pop-ups, and unique tastes.
As for many businesses, the pandemic was especially difficult for Card de A and forced Kim and Lilah to shut their doors for three months. To keep the store open, they made the tough decision to relocate. Although they believed they had properly exited their former lease, a legal dispute unexpectedly surfaced years later. After consulting with legal counsel, Kim and Lilah chose to settle the dispute to move forward and prevent further financial strain.
Now they face attorney’s fees and settlement costs that threaten both their business and financial stability. That’s why Kim, Lilah, and Card de A need your support. Let's make sure Card de A continues its legacy of joy.
