Save Camino Real Tennis Courts

Hello Ventura tennis players! I have met so many of you on the courts at Camino Real Park where we have shared so much fun with our blessed game!  I am pleased to report that the campaign to repair the crumbling courts at Camino Real Park has really gained momentum! A few players have come together to form a committee, USTA (both national and local) has committed their support to the project as well as the Ojai! One of our committee members met with the City of Ventura and they have agreed to move forward with repairs!

Next steps: Get estimates for court repairs and continue to raise the funds to make it happen! USTA is offering free technical expertise and an engineer! There are also grant funds available from USTA.

At the request of some of you, we have reduced the target funding amount to better address repairing the courts rather than building the $1.8 million tennis center identified in Ventura's Community Improvement Plan.

Look for more updates as we move forward with the project and remember to continue to donate regularly because  absolutely all of the money collected after fees are paid will go to the court repairs!

See you on the courts!
