December 21st, 2025. Redding California took on an unprecedented level of rain in a timespan too short to accommodate it. many places and things were damaged.

An intolerable aspect to this is the damage taken on by Cal's Books in Redding. It's not just a bookstore, but a cultural touchstone--a legend--it cannot be allowed to flounder because its solvency suffers in the hands of repairs and time out of circulation.

I have all the faith in the WORLD that the community will make sure Cal's Books remains "the thing."
