Help Us Keep Burn Cycling Alive for Our Community
Hi, my name is Iman Europe, and I’m writing this on behalf of my mother, Julie Adams, the heart and soul behind Burn Cycling—a Black-owned, woman-owned fitness studio in Inglewood that has been a hub for health, wellness, and community since 2018.
For years, I’ve watched my mom pour everything into this studio—her time, her energy, and even her own savings—because she believes in the power of movement, healing, and giving back. She retired from her job from the City of Los Angeles to dedicate herself fully to this space, and together, we have worked tirelessly to keep Burn Cycling alive.
But now, we’re at a critical crossroads.
The Challenge We’re Facing:
Like many small businesses, we faced an uphill battle during COVID. When the pandemic hit, Burn Cycling had to close for 18 months, yet we were still responsible for rent. We were only able to survive because of the incredible generosity of our community. Since reopening, we’ve rebuilt stronger than ever, but the weight of back rent payments—on top of our regular expenses—has made it incredibly difficult to stay afloat.
On top of that, the recent LA wildfires have further impacted our business, reducing attendance when we needed it most. The winter months are already a slow season for us, and this additional setback at the top of the year has left us struggling to cover rent.
Now, we are facing possible closure—but before we take that step, we’re turning to our community for support. Burn Cycling has always been here for others—now, we need your help.
Why Burn Cycling Matters:
Burn Cycling isn’t just a fitness studio—it’s a home for our community.
We have spent years hosting not just cycling classes, but also wellness events, food giveaways, donation drives, and community activations like:
✔️ Breast Cancer Awareness Events
✔️ Men’s Appreciation Month
✔️ Mother’s Day Celebrations
✔️ Thanksgiving Food Giveaways
✔️ Donation Drives for LA Fire Victims
This studio has always been about more than just fitness—it’s about healing, empowerment, and togetherness. We have built something beautiful here, and we don’t want to see it disappear.
How You Can Help:
We need to raise at least $25,000 by the end of this month to keep our doors open. This will go toward:
✅ Covering rent & back rent payments
✅ Keeping our instructors & staff employed
With even more funding, we will be able to:
✅ Hire more employees and instructors
✅ Expand our class offerings
✅ Continuing our community giveback initiatives
We have applied for countless grants, but funding opportunities for Black women in business are extremely competitive, especially with the recent DEI regulations. We have given so much to this community, and now, we are humbly asking for your help.
Every dollar makes a difference. Whatever you can contribute will allow us to continue serving this community that we love.
If Burn Cycling has ever impacted you, your family, or someone you know—please donate, share, and spread the word.
With gratitude,
Iman Europe & Julie Adams
