Now, Bramblewood must find a new home. By raising funds, we can buy land and place it under a conservation easement so it will be protected for our program and future generations forever.

Bramblewood is not just where horses live—it’s where people have found their way back to themselves. Since 1970, this land in the upstate of South Carolina has been a refuge for riders, caretakers, and anyone seeking connection to the natural world.
It’s where children learn to ride and learn what it means to respect another living being. It’s where veterans find peace, where people in grief find grounding, and where community forms around the rhythm of hoofbeats and the changing seasons.
I have been Bramblewood’s steward for nearly two decades. I’ve cared for its pastures, protected its wildlife, buried beloved horses in its graveyard field, and kept its gates open to all who needed what this place could give.
What We’re Facing
We have very limited time to find a new home for Bramblewood Stables.
Our Vision for the Future
Raising funds will allow us to:
- Purchase farmland.
- Partner with a local land trust to place it under a conservation easement, guaranteeing it will never be developed.
- Continue Bramblewood’s mission as a place for horses, humans, and the natural world to thrive together.
- Ensure that farmland will remain a living legacy for generations to come.
