Hi, it's Patty and Claire Griffin, and our really good friend Cathie Haller needs our help. Her precious fur baby, Boz, is really sick and in the ER. Our friend Cathie is retired but still works at horse shows as the Inn Gate person. Boz, who is a puppy at just 2 years old, comes to every show with her. Everyone loves Boz; he is a lovable Rottweiler who loves everyone. He is the sweetest dog, very friendly, and well-behaved. He is Cathie's family.
This past weekend, while working at a horse show away from home, Boz started licking his back leg constantly. On Saturday, Cathie noticed what looked like a hot spot on his back leg near the joint. As the day went on, the spot kept getting bigger until it ruptured. She tried to clean it when she realized it was painful and looked like a bite of some kind. She took him to Veg ER, where she learned it was a Brown Recluse bite. The tissue was starting to die. They have given Boz some really strong antibiotics, but it keeps getting worse.
They recommend Boz going to another hospital that could treat the wound by a special vet. The worst case if the tissue continues to die is the amputation of his hind leg.
All of these treatment options are very, very expensive. Cathie has already spent a couple thousand at the ER. She is retired and just does not have the funds to explore these other options, so the worst-case scenario is Boz would have to be euthanized.
Let's help Boz get the best treatment for him. He didn't ask for this.
If he has his leg amputated, it would require a long recovery time. Cathie doesn't think that's an option because she has to work. But if we can raise enough money, maybe she can stay home for the next 2 months so he could recover from such a huge surgery, and being euthanized would not even have to be an option. We all LOVE Cathie and Boz, so let's give him the best chance to beat this.
Let's show Cathie and Boz they are not alone in this. No amount is too small; it all adds up.
Funds will go directly to VEG of Cary and Other Animal Hospial helping Boz
Thanks, Claire and I really appreciate everyone's help.
