This is our 3 year-old baby Bootsie, she had a sudden and unexpected accident leaving her with a severely broken foot. Her toe bones are fractured and her other bones were protruding out of her skin. Initially we thought that a raccoon had attacked her, but the Doctor said that it looks like her foot was crushed rather than bitten. We aren’t sure exactly what happened to her, but she came into the house crying with a bloody and limp foot that she could not walk on. We are faced now with the heart wrenching decision to amputate her foot/leg, because the injury is so complicated, and she is no longer getting blood flow to the foot. It has now been confirmed by the surgeon that amputation was the only viable choice, given that the foot was infected and had died. This unexpected tragedy has caused a lot of financial stress on our family, which is why we are kindly asking for any support. We’ve never made a gofundme before, and we feel horrible having to ask, but literally anything helps.
