UPDATE!!! We have met our goal!!! This is amazing!! You are all amazing!! We are so humbled by your generosity in saving this family. THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who has donated and shared. Words do not express our gratitude. We did this TOGETHER!! All of us, together. The auction is tomorrow at noon (CST) and we will be updating everyone as soon as we possibly can. As mentioned, any and all money that is not used in the auction, toward transport or for medical will be going to Austin Farms Sanctuary to support Bo Diddley, Reba and baby Clover. We did it guys!! Now we go save them.

------------------------------------------

We are a husband and wife team, Ryan and Rebecca, and we are working very urgently to prevent two cows that have been raised as pets, along with their unborn calf, from being auctioned off to slaughter this Saturday at noon.

Bo Diddley the longhorn bull (3 years old), Reba (1.5 years old) and her unborn calf Clover were once pets, but due to falling on hard times the owner turned them over to the livestock auction last week. Bo Diddley was actually originally rescued by the owner as a day-old calf after likely having fallen out of, or having otherwise been removed, from a transport truck shortly after birth 3 years ago last month. On January 12th with only minutes to spare, we temporarily halted their auction, traveled to the auction house to get updated photos and video, and we are working with a rescue sanctuary to get them placed in a new home. We’ve found a sanctuary to take them in. However, after initially approving the rescue the owner has gone silent, not responding to our requests to finalize the transaction and signaled today that they want a check after the cows are sold at auction afterall.

The only way we can get possession of this family is to have the livestock exchange make us the highest bidder during the next auction, scheduled for January 19th at noon.

These animals have only known life as pets, living happily and peacefully in a pasture across the street from Rebecca’s mother. We even have photos and video of Bo Diddley when he was a baby. We have a sanctuary, Austin Farms Sanctuary , ready to ensure they can continue living long and happy lives. The only obstacle at this point is the money needed to secure their safety.

WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP raising the funds to do that. IF THEY GO TO AUCTION AND WE DO NOT HAVE FUNDS SECURED, THEY WILL DIE.

We were told by the livestock exchange that the highest bid could be anywhere between $1500 to $2500 for the pair, however that may be higher once Clover is born. Reba is due now. We set the goal to be $4000 to cover the auction with a buffer, as well as vet care and transport to Austin. Any and all funds not used at the auction will go directly to Austin Farms Sanctuary  for the care of Bo Diddley, Reba, and Clover. If they are not saved, all donations will be refunded.

Thank you,

Ryan and Rebecca
