I don't usually ask for help. But I'm watching a cat slowly die and I've run out of options.
His name is Bingo. He's a rescued male cat, about 1.5–2 years old. He was found, taken in, and loved by a man named Himel. Himel is a 40-year-old part-time vet assistant in Dhaka, Bangladesh, who has given up everything to care for abandoned animals. Himel sleeps on the floor. He goes hungry. He gets sick. But in two years of knowing him, I have never once seen his 30 rescued cats go without food or care.
You can see his ongoing rescue work on his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/share/17cGCXow6C/ (⚠️ NSFW / graphic — contains photos and videos of severely injured animals. Viewer discretion strongly advised.)
Last week, Bingo stopped eating. His belly started swelling. He became too weak to move around like he used to.
Yesterday, the vet confirmed what we feared: Wet FIP — Feline Infectious Peritonitis.
If you don't know what FIP is:
FIP is a viral disease that is, without treatment, almost always fatal in cats. There is no partial fix. No cheaper alternative. The only thing that can save Bingo is a full 84-day course of GS antiviral therapy — daily injections, every single day, for 84 days straight. Stop early, and it's over.
Bingo's vet documents confirm:
- ✅ Positive Rivalta test (confirms Wet FIP)
- ✅ Distended abdomen, icteric mucous membranes, sunken eyes
- ✅ Appetite and activity: severely reduced
- ✅ Prescribed: GS antiviral SC daily × 84 doses + supportive medications
- ✅ Clinic: Care & Cure Veterinary Clinic, Dhaka — prescription dated 17 Feb 2026
The cost and the reality
We found a supplier with lower prices, which helps — but the numbers are still far beyond what we can manage alone.
Cost Breakdown:
GS antiviral therapy (84 daily injections)
~45,000 BDT or ~$370 USD
Vet follow-ups, antibiotics, supportive meds
~15,000 BDT or ~$130 USD
Total needed
~60,000 BDT or ~$500 USD
To put that in perspective: $500 USD is roughly equivalent to 4–5 months of minimum wage in Bangladesh. For most people here, this amount is simply out of reach — no matter how badly they want to help.
I've reached out to everyone I know. Through family, friends, and Facebook groups — I've managed to pull together about $80 USD (~10,000 BDT). That is everything I can do on my own.
Himel has nothing. He has no savings. He spends every spare taka on his animals.
Without this fundraiser, Bingo will likely be euthanized. We absolutely don't want that to happen.
Proof:
Inside you'll find:
- Vet prescription (Care & Cure Veterinary Clinic, Dhaka, 17 Feb 2026)
- Diagnosis documentation (Wet FIP, Rivalta positive)
- Full treatment plan
- Video statement from Himel
- Photos/Videos of Bingo
I will post updates 2–3 times per week, with receipts for every single purchase, for all 84 days. You will see exactly where every dollar goes.
TL;DR: A rescued cat named Bingo has confirmed Wet FIP. His caretaker Himel, who has dedicated his life to rescuing and treating stray cats & dogs, has no money left for the expensive treatment. The 84-day treatment costs ~$500. I've scraped together $80. Without the rest, Bingo will be euthanized. Proof folder + vet prescription linked above. Donate via Card/Bank Transfer, bKash, or crypto. Every cent receipted publicly.
I'm asking on Himel and Bingo's behalf, because they can't ask for themselves.
Please help us give Bingo his 84 days.
