www.bettyskingsauce.ca Hi everyone!  My name is Amy and I am trying to raise money for my cousin, Betty to keep Betty’s King Sauce alive!  As many of you have heard or read in the new in the last couple of days, Vancouver Coastal Health had issued a warning about Betty’s King Sauce labeling it botulism risk even though there has never been any illnesses ever since it was produced and consumed.  The reason for this warning was because it was made out of her own kitchen instead of a commercial kitchen.  She had to stop producing her sauce immediately and she is heartbroken.


King Sauce started and was created out of love back in 2014.  Betty is a perfectionist, which prevented her from sharing her gift with everyone until she thought it was up to her impossible standards.  I remember she would tweak a few ingredients here and there to try and come up with the perfect batch before she even wanted to serve it to friends.  We would constantly tell her it’s amazing, but she would go back to the kitchen to yet again try and make it even better. 

 
After 2 years of deciding on the type of jars and labels she wanted to showcase her passion, King Sauce was shared with friends and family.  From there, word of mouth spread so fast, it propelled Betty’s King Sauce to where it is now. 
 

If you know Betty, you will understand that she is one of the kindest and most generous person who just wants to feed you.  I’m hoping we can raise money for Betty to rent a commercial kitchen, which cost $21,600 a year. (Full time is $1800 per month, part time is $1100 per month and drop in is $20 per hour)  Your donation will help her create and share her beloved sauce with the community and everyone who is supporting her through this time.  www.bettyskingsauce.ca
