Yesterday I got the most devastating news — my service dog of 7 years, Bethany, has cancer. To say I’m heartbroken doesn’t even scratch the surface.

Bethany isn’t just a dog. She’s spend the last 7 years doing everything with me, attending college, supporting me through my illness and surgeries, entering the work force, various apartments and becoming a big sister. She’s my confidant, my best friend, my soul dog. She has been by my side through everything and has touched so many lives with her sweetness, patience, and love. She has truly saved me in more ways than I can ever explain.

Right now, I’m clinging to hope and strength because Bethany deserves nothing less. People sometimes ask if I would spend everything I have for a chance at more time with her, and the answer will always be yes. ( as long as her quality of life was preserved ) She gave me her whole life — the least I can do is fight for hers.

I know Bethany is strong, but this is such a hard road. Please keep her in your thoughts, prayers, and hearts as we face this together. Any love, encouragement, or support means more than I can ever say.
