Please help us save our family member by fundraising for the procedure that could save him by removing a life-threatening and severely painful bowel obstruction. Friends, family and world I’d love for you to meet the love of my life and heart of our family, Bernie AKA Bernie Boy, Berns, Bernie Butternut VanLinden, B boy or just baby. Bernie gets his name from the tragic and deadly Campfire that we experienced here in Butte County when Bernie was a little less than a year old and found wondering the streets of Paradise, surviving his shelter’s destruction with only minor burns. Bernie then found his way to our family through a local rescue. My first memory of meeting him was him IMMEDIATELY jumping up on me to give ME kisses when he had just spent all this time in a cramped crate, with a bunch of scared barking dogs and a case of kennel cough. Bernie, from the begging, has been a big ball of joy, friendliness and love. He has always been aggressively loving and has never known his own strength. We are often thankful that he ended up with us because many may not have been able to handle his energy, but it is what we LOVE so much about him. I will likely never have children because it is my preference, but Bernie has more than filled that spot up in my life and I would truly give anything to see him happy and healthy. That brings us to this fundraiser. Bernie is 8 now and has more years of life to enjoy. That has all been put in jeopardy by him swallowing parts of one of his favorite toys, a toy that was supposed to be safe and now his happy and loving life is in jeopardy. We would give anything to save him, but unfortunately there are limitations to what we have to give. Please help by giving anything you can.
