Save Bernie: Emergency Surgery Fund
Donation protected
Hi Friends,
As many of you know, I have two dogs who are my whole world, I especially have a special place in my heart for my 10 year old senior chihuahua, Bernie. I found Bernie as a stray puppy and has been with me all along through some of the most difficult times of my life as my emotional support and faithful companion.
Last week, we noticed he was having difficulty controlling his bladder movement, we monitored him over the weekend and for a minute we thought he was ok but decided to take him to his regular vet. After spending $1,500 on ultrasounds, X-rays, urine test, senior screening test, blood work, medical food and medications, we we’re told he had gall bladder stones blocking his urinary track and would need emergency surgery if it gets any worse.
We took him home hoping that with the new food and medications we would be able to help his stones dissolve but it was too late, his urinary track is completely blocked. Yesterday we took him to the vet again to see if putting a catheter through would help clear the track but the vet was unable to do that successfully and recommended we take him to the emergency specialist immediately.
So here we are waiting for him to be taken in for this life saving surgery not knowing how we’re going to pay for it. Some of you have asked how you can support us and honestly we need funds as this is an unexpected expense and we just want our big poppa Bernie to be comfortable and healthy.
We appreciate and thank you all for any help.
Love,
Breezy, Bles, Bernie, and Carnitas
