Save Ben: Urgent Surgery Needed for Beloved Cat

This is Ben.
Ben has had a history with UTIs and kidney stone crystals. He has had a couple other health issues, but nothing that has held him back. He’s very resilient! But as of today, he’s in dire need. He has a kidney stone blockage. He’s in overnight care at our local animal hospital in Knoxville, TN. We have already paid $2,900 for his treatment and care. He is needing surgery. It is called Cystotomy, where the vets go into his abdomen and remove all the bladder stones that are blocking him from being able to relieve himself. The Cystotomy surgery is costing us at least $2,000. This..including what we currently have already paid for, is money we do not have. The vet said if we do not perform this surgery, Ben will need to be Euthanized due to pain and suffering as he cannot pass this blockage on his own. There is no easy way or nor is it comfortable asking for money. I feel I have no choice but to keep fighting for Ben. We need help. We need our Ben. If you can donate even the slightest amount, we would be so grateful. If you cannot donate, PLEASE share this. Maybe someone who is more fortunate or willing can help. Thank you!

Some background info about Ben…
We adopted him in 2020. I was wanting a girl cat to add to our family of two boy cats. Ben was presented as a girl to interested adopters; his paperwork got switched up with another cat. His name was displayed as “Bunny”. He was very gentle, sweet, and soft..like a bunny. I felt “she” would fit perfectly with the boys. When I took Ben home, I got him set up with the vet. Quickly, we discovered at the vet he most certainly was a boy! I was only mildly disturbed at the rescue for adopting out a boy cat to me when I wanted a girl; ultimately I loved Ben for Ben! He was perfect!
Also, another funny factor in this was his age. The vet was unsure of his age, although sure he was on the younger side. The past 5 years we have had Ben, we refer to him as Benjamin Button. Because he has not aged a bit, gotten younger if anything. He has stayed the same measly 8.5 lbs, and he’s more lively than ever. He runs all throughout the house, jumps and climbs things, and explores anywhere he can fit. He is a bit nervous with loud noises, depends on the day whether he was to investigate or hide away. But the most important thing about Ben is how much he loves people. He is the friendliest and sweetest cat I’ve ever known. And I consider myself to be a true cat lover - having grown up with more cats in my childhood than anyone else. That aside, Ben is truly one of a kind.
Thank you for making it this far into reading about Ben.
