Save Belladonna & Friends Animal Rescue

We are Belladonna & Friends, an all-volunteer, grass roots animal rescue group committed only to saving suffering kittens and cats from the tough streets of NYC.

The animal suffering on our streets is such an epidemic that our city recently held an all day public council meeting, where we rescuers could verbalize the endless stress, pressure and sadness that we are constantly under. We are all alone. No transport, no help, no low cost spay neuter spots. So who ultimately suffers?

The homeless animals.

Our rescue keeps plugging along, trying to be efficient, find great homes, and go help more.

But we are not just at our breaking point - we are well, well beyond it. We have 60 animals spread out in foster homes over 3 states and 4 boroughs. We are $14,000 in debt at our main vet, and personally owe lenders over $2,000.

With no low cost ASPCA spots, we are paying over $250 per spay/ neuter. We currently have 29 cats and kittens to fix before adoption. You do the math .

This fundraiser will either save our rescue, or our rescue will not continue. The 60 remaining cats at Juan’s colony, and the direly sick 19 at Roland’s colony, not to mention endless other requests, will not receive help.

Our 10 year anniversary of rescuing is this month. We have saved WELL over 2,600 cats and kittens, as well as a few doggies, raccoons, opossums and one little mouse who was live-released into a park.
