Yesterday turned into the worst nightmare that that a fur parent could ever experience. We had taken beaker into the vet due to him having congestion thinking it was a simple upper respiratory infection some antibiotics and we would be on our way. Once we got back to the room beaker had begun to turn blue and quit breathing which required oxygen and to be tubed. The vet did x-rays and found fluid in his lungs and determined that he had extra skin around his throat that was causing him to not be able to breathe so the game plan was to wake him up and rush him to Pittsburgh to have the surgery. Once he had woken up and they removed the tube he went blue and could not breathe without the tube to open his airways, so they had to resedate him and replace the tube to keep him breathing while we rushed him to Pittsburgh. Once we around in the emergency department in Pittsburgh they had to place a trachea and place beaker on life support as he could not breathe on his own. They have tried to wake him up since then with no improvement each day he remains on life support to help his lungs get stronger so he can regain the strength to breathe on his own and give his throat the chance for the swelling to go down so they can do the skin removal surgery so he can breathe appropriately is another $5,000 a day. We have spent our savings just to get him stable. Please help us to get him the rest he needs so he can be strong enough to make it surgery. We aren’t already to say goodbye. Even the smallest amount will add up. Thank you in advance and the power of power is amazing.
