Save Beah: Help Cover Emergency Surgery Costs
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
This past weekend we had to put our sweet baby girl Beah through an emergency surgery. Two days ago she suddenly began bleeding, and we rushed her to the vet. She was diagnosed with pyometra, a severe infection of the uterus.
Beah wasn’t spayed when she was young because she has a blood condition called Von Willebrand disease, which is common in Dobermans. This condition makes it harder for her blood to clot, so any surgery carries a high risk of excessive bleeding. Because of that, we avoided spaying her when she was younger.
Unfortunately, pyometra can develop later in life—Beah is now 7—and it is fatal if not treated immediately. The vet told us we had no choice but to do emergency surgery if we wanted to save her life.
She underwent surgery, stayed overnight for monitoring, and received plasma transfusions and extra precautions due to her condition. Thankfully, she made it through and is now recovering at home with us.
Her vet bills came to $6,389.41 USD, not including the additional costs for her special food during recovery.
Beah means the world to us—she’s truly our whole life—and we know so many of you love her too. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean so much to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support.
