Bay Area Girls Rock Camp is experiencing urgent financial instability, and we need your support to sustain our programming for 2025. Rising operational costs—driven by OUSD cuts and a national reduction in education grant funding—have put immense pressure on our small and powerful team.
Despite an increasing demand for our programs, these financial challenges limit our ability to meet the needs of our community. We're actively making changes to strengthen our capacity, and now, more than ever, we need our community’s support.

Every donation has a meaningful impact on the longevity of Rock Camp services. More than half, or 55%, of our campers receive scholarships to participate in programming each year. These scholarships generally benefit youth from the most historically underserved communities throughout the Bay Area. Our scholarships are essential so BAGRC remains accessible for campers of all backgrounds and experiences.

As a peer mentor put it, “BAGRC has helped me grow as a person, and I've learned a lot about myself and others here. They've helped me discover my passion and understand the world more. - Scholarships for incredible girls, trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive Oakland youth (for example, $2,500 covers financial aid for 6 weeks of winter programming)
- Inclusive programming that centers on political education, gender justice, youth empowerment, collaboration, self-confidence, and creativity through musical expression
- Liveable wages for Rock Camp’s amazing and revolutionary team ($14,500 covers monthly wages for our whole team of four staff members)
- Operations and Capacity Building to solidify Rock Camp's work in the Bay Area
