Barbara Lloyd is a 68-year-old single lady who has had Multiple Sclerosis since she was a teenager, but did not get a diagnosis until in her thirties. Her MS had ups and downs, but recently, the MS got worse due to the stress of breast cancer surgery and an injury to her back.
She was in ShopRite in January 2020 and was hit in her back by a motorized shopping cart. Since then, she has lots of pain from a herniated disc. Due to Covid-19, she is unable to get help from any doctors for her injuries. She is no longer able to stay with a friend, for whom she cooked and cleaned. Barbara’s condition gradually became worse and she is now in a wheelchair and homeless.
Amidst Covid-19, no one will take her into a nursing home or even a shelter. She gets limited Social Security (her financial status is below the poverty level), but she has been unable to receive Medicaid coverage so far. She has used up all of her savings to stay at a Super-8 motel, and she is now waiting to see if she can get into lottery housing. Everything is shut down and very slow!!! Meanwhile, Barbara has to live in her car or in the Super-8 motel with funding coming from somewhere else. Please help her until Covid-19 is over and she can get into a proper nursing home.
