Hi My name is Tammie Watters. I went to Cabo on vacation and found this poor suffering dog at the Marina. He was so sick he couldn't even walk. He was all skin and bones. Had a Huge Mass of blood and puss on his stomach the size of a grapefruit. His toenails were so long and curled they were grown into the bottom of his paws and bleeding. He was infested with fleas. All of his nipples were discharging puss and blood. I had to carry him from the Marina to the Hotel. He was so grateful and happy to be in an airconditioned room with water and food. He had sores all over his feet, legs and stomach from laying on the scorching hot concrete. I put him on antibiotics and got him to the vet for anti-inflammatory and oral antibiotics and many other things such as worm, tick, flee, and medication. I tried everything to get him on the plane with me, but he was too sick to fly. I had to leave him with the vet to run more tests, which showed that he has Erlichia, a tick-born virus. They are putting him on Doxycycline, Azodyl and Prednizone. The Ehrlichia is causing his kidneys to not function properly. He is being treated for his kidneys, severe anemia, and Ehrlichia. He also has some masses they are doing biopsies on to see what they are. He is a homeless white dog left out in the extreme heat in Cabo, so we are hoping it is not Melanoma. I am very hopeful as they are not hard masses and look like fatty tissue tumors to me. He is being transported to a rescue shelter today at three until we can get him well enough to fly to San Diego. He needs a lot of medical work and care, boarding, and transporting. I am asking for your help to get this guy healthy again and give him the life he deserves. He is a fantastic dog. One of the most incredible dogs I've ever met. Even as sick as he was so well behaved in the hotel. Always let me know when he had to pee, which was OFTEN due to his infection and kidney problem.
