Save Bambi: Urgent Treatment Needed

Hi, my name is Hayley, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a plea for help. The love of my life/dog baby, Bambi, is in critical condition fighting for her life in the ER. She’s only 8 years old and has been diagnosed with kidney failure on April 10th. Her only chance at survival is immediate, around-the-clock veterinary care and multiple dialysis treatments.

This situation is incredibly time-sensitive — every moment counts. I have invested my entire life savings in the past 48 hours to keep her alive and sadly can’t afford anymore treatment after Saturday night, April 12th. The veterinarians and specialists have told me that without urgent dialysis, Bambi’s chances are slim to none, but with dialysis, there’s a hope!

Bambi isn’t just a pet, she is one of the only pieces of family I have left in this world. She’s my best friend, my companion, my family. When my mom died, she was there. When my grandma passed, she was there. When we were homeless living in a car, she was there. With out her support and love, I wouldn’t be here. Anyone who’s met her knows how sweet, loyal, and full of love she is. She deserves a fighting chance at such a young age.

UPDATE Bambi's Condition and Next Steps 4/29

Hi everyone,

First off, I just want to say from the bottom of my heart - THANK YOU! Your donations have truly helped Bambi's healing process and I literally could not have done it with out you. With that said, I wanted to share an important and emotional update about Bambi. After further testing, we learned that in addition to her acute kidney failure, Bambi has also been diagnosed with chronic kidney failure, which sadly means she is no longer a candidate for dialysis.

While she was still in the hospital, Bambi was also diagnosed with pancreatitis, a condition that made her already fragile kidneys even worse. Despite everything, after two weeks in the hospital, Bambi is now home. She's surrounded by love and receiving very intensive care, but the reality is that her life expectancy now depends heavily on her daily at-home treatments.

Her care includes a combination of Western and Eastern medicine, and she now takes over 30+ doses of medication each day, in addition to IV fluids and injections. These treatments are absolutely essential to keeping her comfortable and stable to be able to have any sort of quality of life, but they also come with significant ongoing costs.

Because of this, I’ve updated the GoFundMe goal to reflect her current and future treatment needs as the existing funds given have already been used (and then some) to cover her two weeks in the hospital. I’m also keeping the fundraiser open to help prepare for end-of-life expenses, including funeral and euthanasia costs when that heartbreaking time comes in the near future.
