We’re reaching out during one of the most heartbreaking and miraculous times in our lives, asking for your help to save our sweet boy, Badger.

Badger is our 9-month-old chocolate lab puppy—full of love, energy, and personality. A few days ago, he was involved in a tragic and freak accident. We had no idea he had gotten out of the car, and by the time we realized he was missing from the back seat, his collar had broken free but he had been dragged behind the vehicle, suffering severe injuries to his paws, legs, and abdomen.

We were devastated and thought we had lost him.

But then—something incredible happened. An extraordinary compassionate and kind neighbor found him and, not knowing where he belonged, rushed him to emergency care, desperately tried to find us through community post and raise the money needed to save Badger. By what can only be described as a miracle it worked!! We were reunited at the animal hospital where he had been scheduled to be euthanize hours before, because they couldn't locate us and believed no one was able to take on the financial responsibility for his care.

Thanks to the compassion of our community and sheer fate, we were reunited with Badger in time. He was alive—but barely. His injuries were severe, and he was in shock and pain. The emergency team got to work immediately, and Badger has now been under intensive veterinary care for the past few days.

Incredibly, he is fighting back. The vets are amazed at the progress he’s made in just three days. His strength and will to live are nothing short of inspiring.

But now we face a new crisis: we’re running out of funds to keep him in care.

We are terrified that we may have to bring Badger home before he’s truly ready, simply because we can’t afford the mounting medical bills. He still needs wound care, pain management, possible surgical interventions, and close monitoring to recover fully and avoid life-threatening complications.

That’s why we’ve created this GoFundMe. We are humbly asking for your help.

Our Goal

So far, we have already paid over $16,000 out of pocket to get Badger the emergency care he needed to survive. We’ve done everything we possibly can financially to give him a fighting chance—and we would do it again in a heartbeat. But now, we’re reaching the point where we simply can’t do it alone anymore.

We are asking for help to raise a minimum of $8,000 to cover the rest of Badger’s critical care, including:

Continued hospitalization

Ongoing wound treatment and pain management

Follow-up visits and potential surgical procedures

Medications and recovery support

Every donation—no matter how small—makes a difference and brings us closer to keeping Badger in the care he needs. If we’re blessed to raise more than our goal, every extra dollar will go directly toward Badger’s continued healing and long-term recovery.
