My friends, brothers, and sisters, my name is Pastor James Matthews, I'm reaching out for help for my beloved giant Sulcata tortoise, Baby, whom I have had for 20 years since he was weeks old and the size of a golf ball.

Baby has become a beloved figure in the community, inspiring children with his steady and patient nature. Through his calm demeanor and perseverance, Baby has taught kids important lessons about patience, resilience, and the value of taking things one step at a time. Children are often fascinated by Baby's slow and steady pace, reminding them that progress doesn’t always have to be fast to be meaningful. He has become a symbol of persistence and gentle strength, offering a tangible example of how to approach life with a calm and steady spirit.

At 20 years old, he urgently needs emergency surgery at the University of Georgia Veterinary Hospital in Athens. He has developed an obstruction in his gastrointestinal tract, and without this critical procedure, he will not survive. Baby has brought immense joy to all of us, and we're desperate to give him a chance at recovery. Your support, no matter how small, would mean everything during this difficult time.
