Save Baby Eyden Abdiel: Urgent Medical Help
Donation protected
Bringing a healthy baby into this world is always a miracle from God, as there are endless complications that can arise during pregnancy and childbirth. Patricia, my sister, is waiting for her first baby with much love and excitement. She is the only female at home, and she is the one who will bring us the little boy we’ve been waiting so long for. A baby that we are all eagerly awaiting. To our regret, we discovered that baby Eyden Abdiel's diaphragm was not fully formed, which caused his organs to move from the abdomen to the chest. This condition is called CDH or congenital diaphragmatic hernia. If baby Eyden is born in the Dominican Republic, which is our country of origin, the chances of survival are less than 6%; the structure of the health system cannot guarantee the child's survival despite all its efforts. His chances of survival in a hospital in the USA or Spain are much higher, since there are doctors who have operated on cases like that, like little Monserrat, a recent case in our country… However, the cost of saving Eyden's life entails an approximate price of 230,000 dollars that must be paid before making any arrangements. My sister needs help to obtain a humanitarian visa and be able to travel as soon as possible to guarantee the life of her baby, since she is in her last trimester. Eyden is another case in the country which has come into our lives to elucidate not only the enormous inequalities in health care but also the collective strength. We have faith that we will receive all the support from you to achieve the objective and be able to save this baby's life. My sister Patricia is standing up and taking all her strength to stay standing and not faint in this arduous process; however, we cannot do this without all of you. Please help my sister to have the opportunity to get through this process well and that her little Eyden can be another testimony of survival, demonstrating everything that human beings are capable of doing to save others… May God bless you!
