Meet the Ayman Family: A Young Boy’s Vision Is at Risk
During one of my visits back home to Palestine, I met the Ayman family. Their warmth and kindness stayed with me—and so did the memory of their son, who was just a young boy at the time. He was born with a serious eye condition, but his family has always gone above and beyond to ensure he receives the care he needs.
Tragically, the Ayman family recently lost their home in Palestine and had to flee. Alhamdulillah, through the help of our community, a generous brother working as a travel agent has offered to assist with travel and hotel accommodations. We were preparing to bring the family to safety when we were faced with devastating news.
While following up with the doctor to ensure their son was safe to fly, they were told that flying without urgent surgery could cause him to go blind. The pressure changes during flight pose a serious threat due to his condition (suspected to be advanced pediatric glaucoma), which is why the surgery must happen before they travel.
This fundraiser is to help cover the remaining cost of that surgery.
I’ve been in direct contact with the family and am sharing updates and screenshots of every donation with them. They’ve told me they’ve never felt this much love and support before. If anyone would like to see the medical documentation, I am happy to request permission from the family to share it privately.
Your donation—no matter how small—can save a 10-year-old boy from going blind. Please give what you can, and share this campaign widely. May Allah reward you all for your generosity.
