Hello my name is Madison, this Go Fund me is for my family dog. To start from the beginning my family has two beautiful kind hearted German shepherds. Yesterday my family’s lives changed in an instant, in a tragic accident, my family’s two beloved German shepherds were struck by a truck. Zeus a beautiful German Shepherd loved by so many sadly did not survive his injuries. A closed circle funeral was held for Zeus, I hope he knows that he was loved beyond words. Our other German Shepherd Axle suffered, severe injuries, in a haze my family was able to rush him to the emergency where we hoped he would survive. After 4 heart aching hours we got devastating news that he needs immediate surgery to survive or he’s not going to make it. Axel isn’t just my dog he’s my family. He’s the most loving soul I’ve ever known, Axel is the sweetest dog anyone could’ve ever met. He greets everyone with a wagging tail and a gentle heart. He is loyal beyond words always by everyone’s side, offering love and joy on the hardest days. He deserves a chance to heal and keep sharing his light with the world right now we’re facing an overwhelming situation. The cost of his emergency surgery is more than I can manage on my own and time is very critical. I’m asking for help to give Axel a fighting chance he deserves. update: the doctor called and said he needs a full blood transfusion, which adds another 5 grand on top of that, any donations would be crucial for saving Axels life, please help support him in any way possible.
update 2: Axel is still in surgery, they gave us a call and said he has a ruptured diaphragm, so he needs a chest tube, he also has a pneumothorax. Praying for Axel to stay strong during this scary time! Thank you for all the support and love!
update 3: the surgeons called late last night the surgery was successful although he had major damage on his diaphragm, they repaired it with mesh in hopes it will coagulate over. Doctors are also saying he might need another blood transfusion because he is still anemic. And he currently has a chest tube to help release air and help fix his pneumothorax. Some people might not understand the length we have taken to get our dog home but he’s family and we would do anything to see him get better. I think everyone is very invested in giving him a fair chance to come home. Thank you to everyone who has contributed and understand what we are going through, we couldn’t have done this without each and every one of you so thank you.
update 4: We posted a picture of how he looks now, I apologize if it is a little gruesome but I wanted everyone to see the cause their contributing to. He is on alot of pain meds and he is dazed, we thankfully got to see him, he continues not to be able to eat anything. Doctors are still watching his levels to see if he needs plasma. As you can see his eye is very swollen, and is filled with blood, the doctors still don’t know if he is going to be able to see out of it.
