Aurora’s Story: A Life Worth Fighting For

Aurora was abandoned in the Everglades with her baby in 90-degree heat — no food, no water, left to die. We rescued her and her baby, soon to discover she had mast cell cancer. She’s only 3 years old and has already suffered so much. But she’s a fighter — and so far, she’s winning. She is lively and happy but will die without treatment. The good news is cancer can be treated and there is a matching grant to help!

Past Updates! Aurora’s tests came back and lymph nodes are clear of cancer cells!! It we can raise another $3,000 before next week on Thursday, she can have the cancer surgery and also follow up radiation to kill any cancer cells left behind. The cancer is on her chin and it limits the amount of skin and tissue that can be removed. We found a kind and excellent surgeon willing to do the surgery for under 2,000 instead of the 8,000 the other surgeon wanted. We’re going on faith that everyone will continue to help Aurora and continue to contribute to her treatment. We paid the $1,100 for the Ultrasound, X-rays and cytology with the funds you have already donated. That leaves $400 from Go Fund Me, $750 on our $5 Friday for her as well. As well as a board member contributed $200. That leaves $1,350. towards the surgery and radiation. We can do this! Her life is worth the fight .Thank you so very much. ❤️

Update: Today is Aurora’s appointment at Cancer Care Center in Ft Lauderdale. The procedures they are doing today are

to determine the exact location of the cancer and determine how best to remove it. X-ray & Ultrasound are two of the tests that will begin at 9:30 am today, May 22. Please, we are desperate to raise these funds to continue with the treatment that will save her life. Today’s cost will be approximately $2,000.

Today’s report was very good. The X-ray and ultrasound showed the cancer had not spread to other parts of her body. Next week the cytology will come back telling us how aggressive or non-aggressive Auroras Mast cell cancer is. Please keep her in your prayers. I will update with any new information.
