Save Augustus and Gideon's lives

Augustus and Gideon are two sweet dogs that have only known a life of pain, abuse, dog fighting, and life on the chain. Since being rescued, they have lived in the shelter for 9 months! With no rescue interest. Augustus and Gideon are two examples of why I started my rescue  (Erica's Waggy Tails, Inc. in SC).  My passion is saving dogs that otherwise have no where to go but under the needle of euthanasia. When everyone sees them as unadoptable, broken, too expensive, or too time consuming, I see hope. I believe these dogs can overcome what they have been through and live a happy, full life in a home. Even if that means finding the right home with no other pets. In the right hands, I believe, and I have seen this happen. I have followed Augustus and Gideon's story from day one. I have pulled 3 other dogs from this shelter that were from the dog fighting rings. Two adopted and one has come a long way (while at the same board and train that Augustus and Gideon will go to). We need to raise this money so that Augustus and Gideon can get out of the shelter and into an 8 week professional board and train with Reliable K9 Training. From there, they will be fostered by Alex, the trainer, until they are placed in the right permanent homes. I have fought for these boys, networked them like crazy, and I have exhausted myself, I have cried for them. If you still are not a believer that these dogs deserve a chance, please remember that the life they lived was inflicted by horrible humans. They did not have a choice. Lets be their voice and give them the life that they so deserve. From the shelter staff (written on May 8th): "***URGENT***  Augustus and Gideon...our long time boys. They were saved last August along with 19 other dogs. They were chained all over the property in horrible conditions. Some had died because help came too late. That day I promised each dog when I took off their chain, when I cut of the collar that was embedding into their skin, when I carried them to the AC truck... I promised them I would do everything in my power to get them out. I've failed on my promise to them every day for 268 days. They've spent almost 9 months waiting on me to help them, and despite my best efforts I can't do it alone. Augustus and Gideon have now been given 2 weeks. I have two weeks to make good on my promise to them, or they won't get their second chance. They won't get the fur-ever home. They won't get the happily every after. We have cared for and loved these boys, and are terrified of the thought of them not making it. We know they have so much potential, and we hope they get the chance to show you.
